Thanksgiving Healing Corner – Uptown
November 23 @ 9:30 am - 11:30 am
Please join us for our annual Thanksgiving Healing Corner in Uptown! Volunteer Thanksgiving morning with us in passing out food to the homeless and community members. We will be on the Southeast corner of Sheridan & Wilson from 9:30 am – 11:30 am serving donuts, pastries, cookies, hot chocolate, bananas, and winter garments & coats for youth and adults. Our Uptown Healing Corner will be co-hosted with Maria Murray, homeless advocate and activist representing Uptown.
If you would like to volunteer with us and want to bring something, please bring one of the items listed above and let Arielle Maldonado know what you plan to bring. We really need people to bring hot chocolate!
If you can’t make it but would like to contribute, we are collecting funds here:www.youcaring.com/
Note: We are collecting new and gently used winter garments for kids & adults now through December 22nd!
The Healing Corner is a community building event in which we pass out free food, hugs, and resources while having an open dialogue with the community around the issue of violence. We focus on reaching the young men and boys who hang out on the corner and guide them towards a positive path.
